 On August 4, 1977, San Franciscans witnessed the end of a nearly decade-long struggle that included big-time real estate developers, elderly immigrants, Berkeley activists and even Jim Jones. The International Hotel was once at the heart of the now-vanished San Francisco neighborhood Manilatown.
