The Web Series workshop is an advanced screenwriting course, that will built upon student’s knowledge of basic dramatic principles of story and deepened their understanding of character development, world-building and scene work. It was an introduction to the collaborative script writing process of the "writer's room" and writing for serialized online short form video content. Students pitched, developed and collaborated on the writing of the first season of a 20 episode web series. This workshop honed student’s critical and editorial skills, and the application of those skills to their writing.

Students pitched initial concepts and characters for the web series and met with local film producer on the logistical and financial feasibility of their concepts. The class voted to develop one web series concept. Students collaborated on the development of the narrative arc for the web series. Writing groups were assigned. By the end of the workshop, the group produced the first season of a web series, titled ‘Cherrybomb.”
